Tom Jones
Join Belmont’s Department of Theatre and Dance for Tom Jones. Tom Jones is born of dubious parentage. He is taken in by Squire Allworthy and raised alongside the Squire’s nephew, Blifil. As they grow up together, Blifil takes every opportunity to remind Jones of his illegitimacy and inferiority. Nevertheless, Jones grows up strong, handsome, sincere, kind and charming. He falls in love with Sophia Western, who lives on a neighboring estate. Sophia’s father arranges her marriage to Blifil, whom Sophia finds repulsive; her love for Tom Jones is discovered. Tom is banished, and Sophia later runs away to join him. They are, of course, pursued by everyone else. What results is an adventure where Tom gets mixed up with a variety of dubious individuals from society as he makes his way to London.

The Game's Afoot
It is December 1936, and Broadway star William Gillette, admired the world over for his leading role in the play Sherlock Holmes, has invited his fellow cast members to his Connecticut castle for a weekend of revelry. But when one of the guests is stabbed to death, the festivities in this isolated house of tricks and mirrors quickly turn dangerous. It is then up to Gillette himself, as he assumes the persona of his beloved Holmes, to track down the killer before the next victim appears. The danger and hilarity are non-stop in this glittering whodunit set during the Christmas holidays.

Pride and Prejudice
In partnership with the Nashville Shakespeare Festival, Pride and Prejudice is bold, surprising, boisterous and timely. This new era explores the absurdities and thrills of finding your perfect (or imperfect) match in life. The outspoken Lizzy Bennet is determined to never marry, despite mounting pressure from society. But can she resist love, especially when that vaguely handsome, mildly amusing, and impossibly aggravating Mr. Darcy keeps popping up at every turn?! Literature’s greatest tale of latent love has never felt so theatrical, or so full of life than it does in this effervescent adaptation. Because what turns us into greater fools…than the high-stakes game of love?
