Piano Guest Performance – Dr. Yi-Yang Chen

Known for his “musical and emotional intelligence, dexterity and virtuosity” (Worthing Herald), Dr. Yi-Yang Chen is a Sussex International Piano Competition (2018) and Washington International Piano Competition (2017) award winner. He is currently a keyboard faculty member at the University of Kansas.

Oratorio Chorus & Orchestra – Requiem for Colour by Dr. Jeffery L. Ames

Composed by School of Music faculty member, Dr. Ames, Requiem for Colour is a musical, literary, and visual journey that begins in West Africa and ends in present day North America. "Requiem for Colour will honor the lives and legacies of enslaved blacks from 1619 to 1865, and our contemporary Black martyrs who offered themselves as a sacrifice for equality and freedom." - Dr. Jeffery L.
