Through performances such as the Woods Piano Concert Series, Jazz Piano Concert Series, Encore Award, and Curtain Call Award, students and the community connect with emerging and top performing artists and alumni. Woods Piano Concert – Jon Nakamatsu
International pianist Jon Nakamatsu is the 1997 Gold Medalist of the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, and is known for performing at New York City’s Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center, Washington DC’s Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the Musée d’Orsay and the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris.

Songs of Hope: Unveiling Darkness
Songs of Hope: Unveiling Darkness is a multi-media event centered around a live musical performance featuring local and global stories and artwork from four social justice categories: human trafficked victims, marginalized youth, undocumented immigrants and refugees. This powerful performance partners with local non-profits and has been brought to universities across the country and Carnegie Hall. Click here to learn more about our non-profit partners.

Piano Concert Series – Chih-Long Hu
An award-winning pianist, Chih-Long Hu is a concerto soloist, recitalist and chamber musician. Originally from Taiwan, Hu has performed globally and is the Artistic Director of St. Andrews Piano Academy and Festival International as well as the New York International Piano Festival. Hu is currently a professor at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.

The Navy Band Sea Chanters
The Navy Band Sea Chanters are the United States Navy’s official chorus. The ensemble performs a variety of music including traditional choral music, sea chanteys, patriotic fare, opera, Broadway and contemporary music. The Sea Chanters regularly perform for the public in the Washington, D.C., area and throughout the United States while on national tours. At home in Washington, they perform for the president, vice president and numerous congressional, military and foreign dignitaries.

Jazz Piano Guest Performance - Tamir Hendelman
Tamir Hendelman is a world-renowned and award-winning jazz pianist and arranger. Known for his captivating performances, Hendelman has toured globally and has played with artists such as Natalie Cole, Barbra Streisand, Roberta Gambarini and Tierney Sutton. He is also a long-time member of the Jeff Hamilton Trio and the Clayton-Hamilton Jazz Orchestra.

Piano Concert Series - Scott Watkins
Scott Watkins is an award-winning recitalist, collaborator and concerto soloist in Europe, North and South America, and China. Known for his elegant performances, Watkins has played with instrumentalists and vocalists ranging from violinists Eugene Fodor, Lisa Ferrigno and Hillary Hahn, to cellists Alexei Romanenko and Yehuda Hanani.
