About
The College of Music and Performing Arts offers internationally recognized, nationally accredited programs in music, theatre and dance. The CMPA is a place where our students feed their creativity, fully develop their talents and find their purpose. Our commitment to high standards of artistic scholarship and performances are an essential part of the excellent learning experience at Belmont.
The Department of Theatre and Dance provides student opportunities and training in all aspects of theatre creation and production, including design, directing, and performance with five main stage performances per year and multiple second stage experiences each semester. The Dance program offers a dance production at the end of each semester.
The School of Music offers a variety of performing ensembles that showcase the musical diversity that is a cornerstone of our curriculum. From classical chamber groups to popular music, 25 instrumental and 14 vocal ensembles present a concert each semester.
Our excellent artist/faculty not only teach and mentor students in an environment of innovative curriculum and experiences, but also perform on campus, in the community and around the world. The vibrant performing arts and creative culture in Nashville enhances our top-rated educational experience in the arts by providing opportunity for excellent industry and creative partnerships.
I invite you to attend our Music, Theatre and Dance events this spring as we open the Fisher Center for the Performing Arts to the community with performances by alumni guests, musical theatre, theatre and dance and the President’s Concert.
Tickets for Musical Theatre, Theatre, Opera, Dance and the President’s Concert are sold through the Belmont Box Office. Ticket links are provided in the event listings. Most musical concerts featuring student and faculty performers are typically free admission.
It is our honor to bring the finest concerts and stage performances to Belmont and Nashville. I personally invite you to review this website and reserve your seat for any and all of our performances in CMPA. Whatever your interest, I hope you’ll join us as we spotlight the next generation of artistic endeavors.
We have an open seat just for you.
